Allison helps to break a body piercing world record and set a new one.

Here's a great shot of our resident piercer Allison Lahikainen. Allison was part of a body piercing team that performed at the Steampunk World's Fair in NJ. Wyck, the person getting pierced, breaks the record for the number of 18ga needles pierced in an hour. 1,400 needles! 1,399 on the clock at 52 mintues.
The piercing team was headed up by Boots out of NH. Also piercing was his apprentice Jamie, Malakai of Inksanity, and of course our own Allison. She's not only a veteran piercer with over 17 years experience she has projects like these under her belt. Another reason to choose Graceland Tattoo when thinking about your next piercing. Want to see more pictures of this event? Check us out on Facebook at GRACELAND TATTOO.

12 years Strong

Good morning everyone. It's crazy to think that The Saturday, Valentine's Day marks 12 years since Graceland Tattoo opened it's doors. Thank you to everyone who has chosen to work with us throughout the years. I am very grateful and I think it's safe to say everyone at the tattoo parlor feels the same way. I am so fortunate to have been able to create the space that we now have and I am so thankful to have attracted the individuals who work along side me. We have hit our stride and I am really excited about our future together. I cannot thank Keely Sheehan enough for all the hard work in helping us to build what Graceland Tattoo has become. Keely's support has been unwavering and I may not have had the strength to persevere without her. I am so blessed to have her insights and her patience. Thank you to Allison Lahikainen , Brian Ricci, Evan McGuigan and Joe Pepper  for your dedication throughout the years I am proud to work with you and I thank you for your efforts in making Graceland Tattoo the place that it has become. Thank you to Lindsay Jordan for joining us at a time when we needed someone to help us along the way. I'm also really happy that Miranda Lorberer and Cookie have come to join forces with us. I believe this step will prove to be an unbelievably positive chapter in our lives.I'm also glad to have met Victoria, and I'm pleased we have been able to welcome her into the fold. Thank you to Amy Maher who has supported Joe throughout his time here. He's early in and late to leave and I know that can be taxing on a family. My mother and father who continue to help me whenever it's needed, but whose support was instrumental in the early years. Even though he hash't been with us for a few years now, Thank you Shane Cashman for being a part of this, a big part of this. And to all the guest artists, thank you for sharing with us. To those who worked here in the past, thank you for the things you did, and also thank you for leaving when you did. We've had some ups and downs, as all institutions have but the also helped to shape us and make Graceland Tattoo what it is today. Thank you again to our clients, many of you who have become our friends. I look forward to working for past clients and forging new relationships as we continue to service the Hudson Valley. Peace & Light -Adam Lauricella

Get to Know a Little Something about Miranda Lorberer

Did you know that long time Hudson Valley tattoo artist Miranda Lorberer, formerly of Pop’s Tattoo Emporium in Kingston, is joining our staff in January? Cookie’s also here full-time now too! We’re so psyched to have them on our team! They are the perfect additions to our Graceland Tattoo Family. Since it’s Pink October, check this out: Last year, Miranda participated in P.ink Day, where 10 post-mastectomy breast cancer survivors were each matched with a tattoo artist. Miranda had the honor of covering Willie Mae Graham’s scars. Take a look at this amazing video, meet Miranda, and learn how you can help support this movement. This special day was held lest year at the world renowned SAVED TATTOO in Brooklyn, NY. We're thrilled to be working with a yet another person with the same commitment to helping others as Miranda! Enjoy the video and please share the post.

Adam Feature in Hudson Valley Magazine.

More great things coming down the pike at Graceland Tattoo. A few things have yet to be announced and will be in the days to come. However, we are really proud to announce our very own Adam Lauricella has been featured in Hudson Valley Magazine's  September issue
HVMAG put together a very nice feature on 4 tattooers in the Hudson Valley. They included Adam and two of our friends.  Miranda Lorberer of Pop's Tattoo in Kingston, NY. As well as legendary tattooer and folk artists Thom DeVita who now resided in Newburgh, NY. Many of you may already know the deep respect Adam has for Thom so we were thrilled to see they sought out Thom. As Adam said, "You can't do a spread on tattooing in the Hudson Valley and not include Thom…it wouldn't be worth reading".  We are fans of Hudson Valley Magazine and really feel they do a great job highlighting many of the great things the Valley has to offer. We really feel great knowing they came to Graceland Tattoo to show their readers a little bit about our eclectic tattoo parlor that has become a mainstay in quality tattoo art in the Hudson Valley and beyond. We think it's safe to say the article is not only a nod to Adam but to Allison, Brian, Evan, Joe, Lindsay, Keely and Cookie; As well as all the other guest artist who have come to work along side us. As well as our loyal clients, who often times become friends and family. Thanks to Michael Polito for the stellar photo and everyone at the magazine who helped to make the spread happen. Pick one up at your local news stand.

Please don't forget about Tattooing to Save Babies on September 27th from 11 am to 8 pm. Or the Hudson Valley Magazines "Best of the Hudson Valley" party Thursday, October 9th from 5:30-8:30. We will be back again!

Tattooing to Save Babies

We will be tattooing select designs from 11 am to 8 pm. All proceeds will go to the March of Dimes to lend relief to premature babies and their families. It's a great event started 7 years ago by our friend Krooked Ken at Black Anchor Tattoo in Denton, Maryland. This has become a national event. Over the last 2 years Graceland Tattoo has earned more than $10,000 for the March of Dimes. The fund as a whole has exceeded $70K! We are proud to be a part of it. This year our very own Adam Lauricella was asked by Ken to design the flier. This is his effort. We hope to see a lot of you out lending your support. Don't let us down people! Make us proud!

At this point all full time resident tattooers have a pretty jam packed schedule. With Cookie coming on we will be able to accommodate some of you fine folks a little sooner. Things Happening: The guys are headed to Rochester.

It's been a while since our last post, for that we apologize. The shop has been very busy making tattoos and piercings. We've also made a few improvements to the parlor. Joe has great talent and a really good insight on what makes an interesting tattoos. Stop in and book some time with either of these fine folks.
