Get to Know a Little Something about Miranda Lorberer

Did you know that long time Hudson Valley tattoo artist Miranda Lorberer, formerly of Pop’s Tattoo Emporium in Kingston, is joining our staff in January? Cookie’s also here full-time now too! We’re so psyched to have them on our team! They are the perfect additions to our Graceland Tattoo Family. Since it’s Pink October, check this out: Last year, Miranda participated in P.ink Day, where 10 post-mastectomy breast cancer survivors were each matched with a tattoo artist. Miranda had the honor of covering Willie Mae Graham’s scars. Take a look at this amazing video, meet Miranda, and learn how you can help support this movement. This special day was held lest year at the world renowned SAVED TATTOO in Brooklyn, NY. We're thrilled to be working with a yet another person with the same commitment to helping others as Miranda! Enjoy the video and please share the post.

Adam Feature in Hudson Valley Magazine.

More great things coming down the pike at Graceland Tattoo. A few things have yet to be announced and will be in the days to come. However, we are really proud to announce our very own Adam Lauricella has been featured in Hudson Valley Magazine's  September issue
HVMAG put together a very nice feature on 4 tattooers in the Hudson Valley. They included Adam and two of our friends.  Miranda Lorberer of Pop's Tattoo in Kingston, NY. As well as legendary tattooer and folk artists Thom DeVita who now resided in Newburgh, NY. Many of you may already know the deep respect Adam has for Thom so we were thrilled to see they sought out Thom. As Adam said, "You can't do a spread on tattooing in the Hudson Valley and not include Thom…it wouldn't be worth reading".  We are fans of Hudson Valley Magazine and really feel they do a great job highlighting many of the great things the Valley has to offer. We really feel great knowing they came to Graceland Tattoo to show their readers a little bit about our eclectic tattoo parlor that has become a mainstay in quality tattoo art in the Hudson Valley and beyond. We think it's safe to say the article is not only a nod to Adam but to Allison, Brian, Evan, Joe, Lindsay, Keely and Cookie; As well as all the other guest artist who have come to work along side us. As well as our loyal clients, who often times become friends and family. Thanks to Michael Polito for the stellar photo and everyone at the magazine who helped to make the spread happen. Pick one up at your local news stand.

Please don't forget about Tattooing to Save Babies on September 27th from 11 am to 8 pm. Or the Hudson Valley Magazines "Best of the Hudson Valley" party Thursday, October 9th from 5:30-8:30. We will be back again!

Tattooing to Save Babies

We are proud to announce our 3rd Annual March of Dimes Event Tattooing to Save Babies event. Come on out Saturday Sept. 27th and support this awesome cause! We will be tattooing select designs from 11 am to 8 pm. All proceeds will go to the March of Dimes to lend relief to premature babies and their families. It's a great event started 7 years ago by our friend Krooked Ken at Black Anchor Tattoo in Denton, Maryland. This has become a national event. Over the last 2 years Graceland Tattoo has earned more than $10,000 for the March of Dimes. The fund as a whole has exceeded $70K! We are proud to be a part of it. This year our very own Adam Lauricella was asked by Ken to design the flier. This is his effort. We hope to see a lot of you out lending your support. Don't let us down people! Make us proud!

A new member to the team

So I'm happy to say we have added a fourth tattooer to the roster.  Cookie over at Pop's Tattoo in Kingston, NY will be sitting in with us on Monday's. At this point all full time resident tattooers have a pretty jam packed schedule. With Cookie coming on we will be able to accommodate some of you fine folks a little sooner. Cookie has been tattooing in the Hudson Valley for a number of years, most notably at Pop's where he will remain full time. Please come down to the tattoo parlor and welcome him, take a seat in his chair and get tattooed if you'd like. You won't leave disappointed.

Things Happening: The guys are headed to Rochester.

It's been a while since our last post, for that we apologize. The shop has been very busy making tattoos and piercings. We've also made a few improvements to the parlor. Graceland Tattoo was fortunate to have Bryan Sanchez from Columbia visit and bring his unique brand of "water color" tattoos with him. we have also secured a few other guests. Ellen Murphy will be here for 3 days only. She will be making tattoos with the guys May 27-29th. Ellen is a seasoned tattooer who is well rounded and strives to make quality tattoos. She is doing some traveling before she winds up settling in Portland Oregon. Towards the en of August we will have Joe King from Off the Map Tattoo in the house. Joe has great talent and a really good insight on what makes an interesting tattoos. Stop in and book some time with either of these fine folks.

We will be working the Roc City Tattoo Expo in Rochester, NY once again. Adam, Joe and Evan will be taking walk ups all 3 days. Adam will be bringing a number of paintings that are available for purchase. You can also use them as inspiration for a new tattoo. Roc City has proven to be one of the best tattoo conventions around and we feel very fortunate to be a part of it again this year. If you would like to get something specfic and would like to reserve some time you can send an email to the artist you want to work with. Otherwise, you can find us hanging at booth with good friend Hunter Spanks from Have Fun Be Lucky in Baltimore, Maryland. Hunter will once again be sharing space with us.
